Community Hall – Punnaveli, Pathanamthitta

This project for the Ambattu Kudumbayogam in Punnaveli is a careful facelift of an existing community hall used by a family network of nearly 150 households. The intervention was not about replacing the space, but about refining it—respecting the familiarity of the original while lending it a renewed architectural presence.

The core gathering space remains unchanged in its layout and purpose. What has evolved is its outward expression and spatial clarity. The elevation has been redesigned with a cleaner profile, updated finishes, and a more composed sense of proportion. The roof and façade detailing were reworked to bring simplicity and definition, improving not just aesthetics but also comfort.

By retaining the scale and flow of the original space, the project preserves its emotional and functional memory. Subtle material upgrades—such as fresh plaster, muted tones, and structured edges—bring quiet dignity to a space that continues to serve as the heart of family events and collective identity.

This is a project where very little was changed, but everything feels different—lighter, sharper, and more grounded in its role as a gathering space for generations.
